A Northwoods Story Built on Tradition

We’re Matt and Caity Lange, the owners of The Cedar Barrel LLC. Matt was born and raised in Wisconsin, while Caity was born in Michigan and has spent most of her life in Wisconsin. We both grew up going up to the family cabin, where some of our favorite memories were made—long days on the lake, evenings with family and friends, and time spent enjoying everything the Northwoods has to offer.

Our travels to Montana deepened our appreciation for slowing down, spending time outdoors, and enjoying the people and places around us. The mountains, wide-open spaces, and unforgettable hot spring experiences inspired us to bring that same sense of warmth, connection, and escape home to Northern Wisconsin.

From that inspiration, The Cedar Barrel was born—a mobile, wood-fired cedar sauna and cold-plunge experience designed to bring people together. It combines the comforting heat of a traditional wood-fired sauna with the refreshing rush of cold water, creating a memorable experience delivered directly to your home, cabin, campsite, resort, or event.

Small-business ownership runs in Matt’s family. Growing up around family-owned businesses taught him the importance of hard work, personal service, and creating something meaningful for the community. The Cedar Barrel proudly carries that tradition forward, and those values remain at the heart of everything we do.

For us, The Cedar Barrel is about more than a sauna and cold plunge. It’s about good people, strong communities, and making time for the moments that matter. Our goal is to bring people together and help turn lake days, family gatherings, weekend getaways, and special occasions into unforgettable moments.
